Workflow guide

The Quality Method

Generation is the easy half. What comes back is around 1024px — a third of what a modern phone screen shows — with smoothed skin and a crop that's too tight. Soft images get scrolled past. The Quality Method is the enhancement workflow that fixes it: four complete routes from free to paid, mobile to desktop, single image to batch, with the exact tools, settings and order of operations. Includes the expand and reframe workflow, and two bonus film filter workflows.

You'll need

A ChatGPT account (the free tier works) and one clear photo of your own face. Delivered as Markdown files in a zip — readable on any phone or computer, nothing to install.

What's actually in it

Four routes, because one workflow doesn't fit everyone.

Free or paid, phone or desktop, one image or thirty at once. Each route is documented end to end — the exact tools, the exact settings, and the order they go in.

  • Route A · Preferred

    The phone route

Free with ads · paid to batch

The preferred daily workflow, done entirely on an iPhone. Highest ceiling of the four — unblur, sharpen and denoise stack on the same image until it's exactly where you want it.

  • Route B

    The free browser route

    Completely free

No card, no install, nothing to download. Two free tools, one to widen the frame and one to resolve it, run in the right order. Slower and one image at a time, but the output genuinely holds up.

  • Route C

    The batch route

    Free, unlimited

Open source, runs on your own computer with no credits and no limits. Point it at a folder of thirty images and walk away. This is the volume route.

  • Route D

    The all-in-one app

    Paid

Expand, enhance and colour in a single app — the simplest of the four. Ships with a current warning about TikTok slideshows that you'll want to read before building on it.

Two one-tap film filter workflows

Enhancement fixes resolution. It doesn't fix too clean — the flat, evenly lit look that reads as rendered rather than photographed. These two put the grain, the colour response and the light back.

No prompt to write and nothing to pay for. Both are single-tap effects, about thirty seconds an image, and the guide covers which one suits which scene — and when using neither is the right call.

What it fixes, and what it doesn't

Four of the six things that make a generation underperform. The other two aren't enhancement problems, and no workflow or upscaler solves them — the guide says so plainly rather than pretending otherwise.
